KEYBOARD MAPPING
Easy Flexatone offers the most used techniques across two octaves:
First octave: C1 - B1: 12 most used Flexatone techniques, with 8 round-robins for maximum realism
Second octave: C2 - B2: 12 complementary single samples (no round-robins)
!!! All the white keys offer medium and long Flexatone phrases, with multiple hits.
!!! All the black keys offer shorter Flexatone sounds and single hits.
NB: the instrument automatically mutes the previous samples when a new key is played: this lets you create your own Flexatone phrases in a fun and intuitive way, while assuring realistic results.
PARALLEL MAPPING:
The instrument uses a parallel mapping on two octaves: the notes spread one octave appart (ex: G1 and G2) offer either a similar technique/ sound, or a complimentary technique.
For example, C#2 features a sample that is similar to the one on C#1. The two notes can be used alternatively in a track to bring variety and authenticity. F2 and F1 offer complementary techniques: F1 is a long sample with the pitch going up, and F2 is the opposite technique with the pitch going down: play one note after the other several times to improvise your own Flexatone phrases!
OPEN FORMAT
Use any SFZ player and get the same playability and the same sound quality!
The instrument is also available in the open SFZ format. Use any SFZ player, such as the free Sfizz or Sforzando to enjoy the same playability and the same sound quality!
Kontakt interface
The Kontakt instrument gives you access to a 3-band equaliser, a warm saturation, and a parallel compressor.
You can also add reverb and select one of 19 custom Impulse Responses.
A switch lets you activate or de-activate round robins for the C1-B1 keys, and a knob lets you precisely adjust the release of samples.
A gorgeous sound
The samples were recording with an AKG C480B, using an hypercardioid CK63 capsule. For maximum versatility, the sound is dry and focused, with very little room ambience. Simply add your own reverb to easily fit the Flexatone into your track!
